The rules, in plain English.

Booking and payment
- • Booking does not charge you. We confirm your lesson by email and send a Square payment link to settle before the date, or you can pay your instructor on the day.
- • Payment in full is due on road exam day for any outstanding balance.
- • Prices are $60 per hour for a driving lesson in Brockton and $65 per hour out of town, $360 for the six-lesson starter package, $1,100 for the driver’s education program, $120 for a road exam in Brockton and $150 for a road exam out of town.
- • RMV licensing and permit fees are charged by the Registry of Motor Vehicles and are separate from anything you pay Semedo Driving Academy.
Cancellation and no-shows
- • We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
- • Cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice is charged as one lesson.
- • A no-show is charged $15 in addition to the $60 lesson fee.
- • If we have to cancel on you — weather, vehicle, illness — you are never charged, and we will offer the first available replacement slot.
Refunds
- • Refunds are considered where the reason qualifies. Talk to us — we would rather sort something out than have you feel stuck.
- • Unused lessons within a package remain available to you and can be transferred to another member of your household.
Pickup, drop-off and travel
- • Pickup and drop-off are included at no charge with every lesson.
- • Road exams are different: students meet us at the road exam site. If getting there is not possible, tell us when you book and we will do our best to accommodate you.
- • Lessons in Brockton are $60 an hour. Lessons anywhere else on the South Shore are $65 an hour. Road exams are $120 in Brockton and $150 out of town.
- • Please be ready at the agreed address at the agreed time. Waiting time counts toward your lesson hour.
Student accounts
- • Students under 18 require a parent or guardian to sign the enrollment agreement, and the parent or guardian is given access to the student account.
- • Once a student passes their road test, their account is closed.
- • Hours completed are recorded against the Massachusetts RMV requirements and are available to you at any time.
Your information
- • We collect only what is needed to teach you and keep you on the calendar: name, contact details, pickup address, permit status and lesson history.
- • Card payments are processed by Square. We do not see or store your full card details.
- • We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except where required to run the lesson or by law.
- • You can ask us to correct or delete your information at any time by emailing [email protected].
Safety and conduct
- • All instruction is delivered in a dual-control vehicle, insured for driver training.
- • Students must hold a valid Massachusetts learner’s permit and carry it to every behind-the-wheel lesson.
- • We reserve the right to end a lesson without refund if a student is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if continuing would be unsafe.
